♥ 5 More Minutes!

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground. “That’s my son over there”, she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide. “He’s a fine looking boy”, the man said. “That’s my son on the swing in the blue sweater”. Then looking at his watch, he called to his son, “what do you say we go, Todd?” Todd pleaded, “Just 5 more minutes, Dad, please!” Then the man nodded saying, “Just five more minutes”. And Todd continued to swing to his heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his son. “Time to go now, son!” again Todd pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad, Just five more minutes.”
The man smiled and said, “OK son”.
“My, you certainly are a patient father”, the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, “My older son, Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding a bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Todd. He thinks he has five more minutes to swing. But the truth is, “I get Five more minutes to watch him play”.
Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities?

I heard a quote once that said, “You never know what you have until you lose it”. Let us not take one another for granted, for no man knows what tomorrow will bring. (James 4:13-14)
If you are a parent, I encourage you to spend more time with your kids and if you are a young person, I encourage you to spend time with your parents, as this is the only way relationships can grow and your love for one another be shown. People are so busy these days that they forget about the truly important things in life, like spending quality time with their family and close friends. Read and meditate on these scriptures.
Exodus 20:12 – “Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long upon the land which The LORD your GOD is giving you.”
James 4:13-14 – “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell and make profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2,4 – “To everything there is a season, a time or every purpose under heaven: A time to plant and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.”
Remember: People who are on their deathbed never complain about how they wished they spent more time at the office; but they do wish they spent more time with their loved ones.
