Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:7
Some people ask, "Why does GOD make it so difficult for people to get to know HIM? You Christians tell us that GOD wants to be known, but when people seek HIM, they fail to find HIM."
There are many who would like to meet their head of state, but are not prepared to observe the necessary protocol. They would simply like to shake his hand and chat with him as they do with a nice acquaintance. But that's not possible.
Nor is that the way to come to GOD. The distance people are from HIM is incomparably greater. What hinders contact with GOD, The BIBLE tells us, is man's sin, which has caused the separation between HIM and us. That is the reason why many have difficulty in making contact. They would like to get to know HIM, but refuse to accept that HE has a right to demand obedience of them. So they are not prepared to admit their disobedience and their guilt.
Whoever comes to GOD humbly with longing and obedience will find a welcome, and GOD will begin speaking to him. In that way we can learn to know HIM properly, even as The CREATOR of Heaven and earth, who stands over all things. The entire BIBLE contains GOD's communications to mankind.
Today's verse from the BIBLE, on the other hand, refers to people who are constantly seeking but never attaining a true knowledge of GOD. It is because they fail to meet the conditions that GOD HIMSELF has set for purity. GOD is so holy and sin cannot be anywhere near HIM. When this matter of our sin is dealt with, contact will be possible.
You should, however, be sure of one thing: GOD IS SEEKING You!
